**Clinical Study Recruiter (Nurse)**

**About the Company**:
TASK is a South African headquartered, multinational clinical research institute that conducts clinical trials to determine the treatment effects of novel medicinal products or devices in healthcare and offers services in conducting complex clinical trials in a wide variety of therapeutic areas.

**Overall Purpose of the Position**:
The Clinical Study Recruiter (Nurse) will assist in establishing new relationships and opportunities and building diversification as part of the participant recruitment strategy and key performance areas. In addition, the role will assist with the recruitment of participants for the various clinical trials being conducted across TASK’s Cape Town sites and support the recruitment management team as needed.

**Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:

- Supporting the management of clinical recruitment and the development and execution of relevant plans and strategies
- Managing staff, responsibilities, resources, and relationships with relevant stakeholders when required and in the absence of the clinical recruitment management team
- Assisting in driving and the drafting of recruitment plans and proposals for new studies in consultation with the site and TASK protocol team
- Planning and implementing recruitment campaigns according to the clinical trial protocol requirements and in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and the clinical team
- Undertaking all activities related to the recruitment of clinical trial participants, in line with TASK policies, and supporting sites with recruitment plans and strategies
- Sourcing and seizing opportunities to recruit participants for all studies
- Conducting and/or coordinating various participant recruitment activities
- Engaging, networking, and building relationships with Department of Health and City of Cape Town clinics’ representatives and exploring other possible participant recruitment opportunities
- Being the point of contact for referrals from website and other sources
- Following up and engaging with volunteers and potential participants where necessary
- Responding to queries; troubleshooting and solving problems as they arise
- Supporting sites in coordinating transport for participants
- Providing status reports and feedback either as formal written reports or presentations regarding clinical recruitment efforts, and metrics, when needed
- Helping to build and maintain a volunteer data base of contacts and opportunities for recruitment for diversification studies
- Obtaining consent and performing telephonic, and other, screening of potential trial participants according to the protocol requirements and in line with SA GCP
- Completing administrative tasks as required for the efficient execution of key performance areas
- Initiating and performing staff training in collaboration with recruitment management team
- Travelling and driving to venues and events in order to meet the requirements of the position

**Ideal Requirements**
- Qualified Enrolled nurse with active and current SANC registration
- At least three years’ nursing experience in different therapeutic areas or other relevant experience performing similar responsibilities would be preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Language ability in at least 2 of the official languages of the Western Cape
- Very good computer competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Good administrative skills

**The following will be advantageous**:

- Own vehicle
- Project management qualification and/or experience
- Previous clinical trial or community health care experience
- Supervisory skills and/or experience
- Current valid SA GCP certificate
