**Job Summary**:
Aon South Africa is recruiting Retail Volume Sales Consultant in our Commercial department, based at our offices in Roodepoort. The role of the Sales Consultant is to provide an internal telesales service to clients by means of quoting and selling products to different market segments, in order to ensure the attainment of pre-determined targets and the growth of the Volume Business Products Solution client base.
This position complies with our Employment Equity policies.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Completes client needs analyses to establish insurance requirements
Prepares and processes quotes on the relevant systems as the need arises
Provides professional and accurate advice in respect of cover, exclusions, terms and conditions, ensuring clients are informed of any underwriting requirements relating the policy
Negotiates cover and rates with insurers on behalf of clients
Responsible for generating new business according to set targets
Achieving leads to sales conversion in line with business objectives
Ensures that proposals are correctly completed, and follows up on outstanding documentation
Follows up on quotes already produced and not yet accepted by clients
Builds a long-term and profitable client base.
Responsible for producing weekly and monthly operating/ sales reports
Supports and actively participates and contributes towards team initiatives and any new divisional or branch strategies
Remains current with market trends within the insurance industry and is aware of competitors’ products/ offerings
Adheres to the minimum operating standards
**Minimum Requirements**:**
Qualifications.**
A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
A Bachelor’s degree is preferable
Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act
Minimum commercial FAIS credits
Successfully completed Regulatory Exam
**Knowledge**
Good knowledge of policy wordings
Computer literacy with advanced know-how in respect of MS Word and Excel.
A comprehensive knowledge of the South African and international short-term insurance markets.
**Skills and Attributes**
Proven skills to organise own workload and complete tasks accurately.
Possesses advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively
**Experience**
Have a minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a commercial insurance sales role
**FAIS Compliance**:
Comply with the applicable Fit and Proper provisions as set out in the Board Notice 106 of 2008 issued by the Financial Services Conduct Authority governing Financial Advisory and Intermediary services Act, 2002
Determination of Fit and Proper requirements for Financial Service Providers, 2008.
Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions set out in the General Code of Conduct for Authorized Financial Services Providers and Representatives (as governed by the Financial Services Board, Board Notice 80 of 2003).
Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions set out in the Short Term Insurance Act No 53 of 1998 and supporting regulations.
Have an understanding of the provisions of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), No 38 of 2001 and amendments thereof.
