Job Title: Technical Procurement Officer/Clerk

Department: Procurement

**Salary**: Approximately R20000 based on experience and qualifications

Reports To: Procurement Manager

Remote Working Structure: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

- Procurement Administration:

- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to potential suppliers.
- Evaluate and compare quotations received, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Create purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Obtain necessary internal approvals for purchases.
- Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Technical Knowledge Development:

- Gain a comprehensive understanding of mobile facilities, their components, and related technical specifications.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and product advancements.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to develop and maintain a library of technical specifications for mobile units and their components.
- Continuously research and identify alternate products or suppliers to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
- Track and analyse spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement processes.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, highlighting cost savings, spend analysis, and other relevant metrics.
- Assist in inventory management, tracking, reconciliation, and supplier returns, including processing corresponding credit notes.
- Supplier Relationship Management:

- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify potential new suppliers.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any delivery-related issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

- BEng/Bsc/BTech degree in Engineering or Logistics preferred. (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)
- Experience in supply chain management, procurement, and technical buying, with a strong emphasis on technical procurement.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field, with a focus on technical product sourcing.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and supplier management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify alternate products and suppliers.
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and learn about mobile units and their components.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling procurement documentation.
- Proficient in using stock management software and general office productivity tools.
- Familiarity with Unleashed stock management tool is preferable.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

**Salary**: R17,000.00 - R22,000.00 per month
