Role Summary:
Associate is responsible for providing a managed service to clients to ensure that their IT

infrastructure and systems remain operational through proactively identifying, investigating and

resolving technical incidents and problems and to restore service to clients by managing incidents

to resolution. Their primary objective is to ensure zero missed service level agreement conditions.

The Cisco Certified L1 Associate focuses on first line support for standard and low complexity

incidents and service requests.

Responsibilities (areas of potential exposure):
i) Monitors client infrastructure and solutions

ii) Provide telephonic or chat support to clients when required

iii) Execute approved maintenance activities including patching and configuration changes

iv) Follow the required handover procedures for shift changes to ensure service continuity

v) Ensure the efficient and comprehensive resolutions of incidents and requests

vi) Proactively identify opportunities for work optimisation

vii) Identify opportunities for work optimisation including opportunities for automation of work,

request fulfilment, incident resolution and other general process improvement opportunities.

viii) Assist all our users with any logged IT related incident when called upon.

ix) Take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or

permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible;
escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary.

x) Accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system. To

install and configure new IT equipment.

xi) Resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware.

xii) Resolve incidents with printers, copiers, and scanners.

xiii) Maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated

efficiently and in an appropriate manner.

xiv) Maintain excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively

with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization.

xv) Create, maintain, and publish relevant support documentation to assist all staff in the quick

resolution of their incidents and service requests and enable users to become more selfsufficient.

xvi) Be willing to attend internal training as necessary to keep up to date with the latest

technology and internal system processes.

xvii) Work within the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

xviii) Participate in the Annual Performance Review Process.

xix) To attend training courses as identified and agreed for appropriate development.

xx) Undertaking other duties not specifically stated which from time to time are necessary

without altering the nature or level of responsibility.

Education/Qualifications:
i) Diploma, degree or relevant

qualification in IT/Computing (or

demonstrated equivalent work

experience)

ii) Up to date and relevant ITIL

certification (Foundation Level)

iii) CCNA & CCNP Enterprise an

advantage

iv) FortiGate SDWAN an advantage

v) Cisco Firewalls and Routers

vi) A+ and N+

vii) MCSA/MCSE

viii) Linux+, or Cisco Certified Network

Associate accreditation advantageous.

ix) ECDL (or equivalent)
