Water and Pool Operator On Cruise Ships

Duties include (but are not limited to):

- Collect bunkering Potable Water certificate.
- Bunker and production halogenation and pH control - Taking corrective action if halogen levels fall outside of the required limits; adjusting the equipment, by initiating repairs, or contacting the Hotel Engineer.
- Maintaining and to ensure the correct functioning and maintenance of bunkering and production system and distribution system.
- Ordering spare parts (i.e. sensor, pumps, etc.) in case of malfunctioning or when required by the Facility Manager
- Cooperate with the Staff Captain assuring required standard for potable water tanks, sample cock, level measurement and manual sounding.
- Coordinate, in collaboration with the Staff Captain, in case of contamination of a potable water tanks, the disinfection operation.
- Potable water system chemical treatment: ensuring that free halogen residuals in the distribution system are in compliance at all times.
- Microbiological Monitoring.
- Coordinate and follow up results from ashore laboratory and coordinate corrective actions if necessary.
- Supervise water bunkering operation.
- Monitoring the halogen levels during swimming pool and whirlpool spa operations and to ensure that the free halogen residuals in the pools and spas are in compliance at all times; taking corrective action if halogen levels fall outside of the required limits, making adjustments to the equipment.
- Making daily entries in the charts and logs maintained for the swimming pool and whirlpool halogenation and filtration.
- Verify and maintain the UV lamps for disinfection of WF with support of Electrician
- Maintaining the necessary records pertaining the swimming pools, whirlpool spas, whirlpool tubs, super halogenation, filter backwashing, whirlpool spa daily cleaning.
- Supervise the HK personnel for the backwashing and super halogenation for the public whirlpools, pools and spa pools - Maintaining the necessary records.

- In cooperation with the Housekeeping personal replace components as per standard request.
- In charge for a monthly sand filter test for RWF.
- In charge of the back-flow preventers program control and monitoring system.
- Taking active part in a work environment that supports a successful safety culture.
- Supports an effective and sustainable health and safety culture and environment on board, follows strictly HESS regulations and any Health and Safety Protocols in force to prevent the spread of diseases on board and reports to the Head of Department any observed violations of the Company's health procedures.
