General Reinsurance, Cape Town Branch (a subsidary of General Reinsurance AG) is offering an opportunity for** **Claims and Data Administrator** in our **Life Australia, UK, SA, Canada **division.
**Key Responsibilities**
The position reports to the Claims Manager for the Life Health Claims Team in South Africa as well as a dotted reporting line to the Data Manager in Australia. The Claims and Data Administrator will be responsible for the claims administration in South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa as well as Australia.
The role entails:
- Administration of linking policies and benefits to claims
- Working with the Claims and Data teams on various claims related items
- Monitoring mailboxes for incoming data and liaising with clients to ensure timely receipt
- Responsibility for Initiating claim assessment process
- Assisting with the preparation of death claims
- Manage the outstanding claims process and claims review process
- Working with the Valuation, Claims and Data teams on reporting and reconciliations
- Support the Gen Re Claims and Data teams with various projects, e.g. support on client audits
- Demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication to internal stakeholders and Gen Re clients
**Qualifications & Experience**
We are looking for top applicants that have a relevant tertiary qualification and relevant work experience in a Life Insurance or Reinsurance environment.
**Requirements**:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to build rapport and influence at all organizational levels
- Understanding of simple accounting principles and processes
- Ability to produce quality work in a timely manner
- Ability to work both independently, and in a team environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in challenging situations with an ability to multi-task, be flexible, adaptable and a self-starter
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Solid software skills
- Fluent English, a second language would be advantageous
