**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

The overall purpose of this role is to improve Company performance and plans by providing valuable market, consumer, customer and competitor insights. This will be achieved by:

- Capture and analyse sales, consumer and category data, and translate it into meaningful insights to drive the development of a single view of the category and consumer segments.
- Review historical trends, demand drivers, and insights to input into the New Category demand planning process.
- Lead the development of in-market consumer, customer and competitor insights to improve deployment of plans.
- Assist with market research in line with Global and Regional agenda and foster enhanced consumer centricity.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**

Data:

- Collect and review historical trends, sales, and demand drivers, to input into the New Category forecasts and demand process.
- Build, automate and update a broad range of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to be provided to key senior stakeholders.
- Proactively undertake analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data, identifying opportunities and shortcomings for the business, and translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve data capture, processing, and delivery of information to the business.

Insights:

- Research and report on consumer usage patterns and behaviour to support business decision making.
- Provide input into New Category marketing projects to ensure the timely input of a consumer centric perspective and up to date findings.
- Develop consumer insights through analysing multiple sources and harness findings to build an understanding on the NC consumer.
- Support Manager in identifying and recommending new business opportunities through actionable and forward-looking insights delivery.

Research:

- Assist with inputs into all NC research projects in line with Global and Regional agenda.
- Support manager in identifying and recommending new business opportunities through actionable and forward-looking insights delivery.
- Assist in selecting and effectively managing external suppliers for consumer centric projects.

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Statistics or a related field of study.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a leading FMCG company in Research/Insights or Analytical roles.
- Strong data and analytical skills, with experience with the extraction, processing and maintaining of multiple data sources.
- Ability to efficiently manage and implement quick-turnaround, high volume projects.
- Experience in managing a research budget and in selecting and managing external suppliers.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- High level of attention to detail, thorough analytical skills, rational decision making, objectivity, and high numeracy.
- Basic understanding of data modelling, forecasting, and statistical principles.
- Proficiency in the MS Suite, specifically moderate to advanced Excel skills. Prior experience with common reporting tools i.e., MS PowerBI.
