Assistant Store Manager

An Assistant Store Manager at Excellent Meat is in charge of keeping things in line and to ensure that our standard of Excellence is met at all times. Here is a list of your Duties & Responsibilities as an Assistant Store Manager.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Follow recipes, oversee that quantities list is given to production
- Housekeeping, merchandising, layout, image, pricing
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the store
- Safe keeping of the store (opening and closing)
- Check all equipment is in a working condition (fridges, temperatures etc.)
- Walks in the store to ensure that the standards and quality is of Excellence
- Maintain stock, supplies and inventories
- Head stock take in the store
- Weekly stock take (explain variances to Management)
- Stock control - rotating stock properly to ensure no waste
- Merchandising and presentation of stock
- Receive and check the quality of the products, weights are correct
- Meet sales budgets
- Manage expenses, systems, budgets, discounts
- Maintaining cash controls, purchasing and rotating the stock
- Labour Cost
- Plan daily tasks, communicate, follow up
- Follow work processes, manage stock and information
- Manage and ensure that all orders are strictly met (Customer orders and Bulk orders)
- Place orders as per need. Ensure proper times for delivery of orders are met
- Provide feedback, coaching and training to staff’
- Monitor the performance of cashiers and giving feedback
- Ensure that your team delivers according to what is expected from them
- Manage and structure the teams leave and off day rotations
- Maintain the high standards of customer service that we hold at Excellent
- Build strong relationships with our customers
- Manage service to customers, deal with customer issues

**Skills Required**:

- Must have knowledge and expertise on Meat
- Retail & Butcher Manager Skills
- 3 - 5 years’ experience
- FMCG/ Food industry background
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans
- High Level of Customer Service
- Knowledge of ERP Stock system

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Elsiesrivier, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Assistant Manager: 5 years (preferred)
