Payroll Administrator

Cape Town, South Africa

Role Overview

Reporting to the Payroll Lead. The Payroll Administrator will coordinate and complete all functions related to payroll for the local country. Ensure that all employees are paid accurately and on time, that all relevant data is maintained and that all payroll tax responsibilities are completed as the need arises by the local country.

**Responsibilities**:

- Process data entries on payroll system, i.e.: joiners/leavers, increases, bonus payments, changes etc.
- Receive and/or collect monthly payroll input data from relevant teams/system, i.e.: HRSD and/or Workday
- Verify that all payroll input data has been accurately authorized and approved on Workday
- Update, maintain and ensure accuracy of all relevant payroll data
- Assure appropriate payroll tax deductions are made for all employees per local country tax requirement
- Action all payroll deductions and statutory withholdings
- Attend to payroll queries
- Extract payroll reports and distribute to relevant approvers before salaries are paid
- Update and maintain salary reports and schedules
- Prepare ad hoc payments/reports as requested
- Extract and distribute all relevant General Ledger journals from payroll system
- After payroll finalization, prepare and distribute month-end reports from the payroll system
- Run payslips and prepare for upload into Workday
- Maintain company standard processes and policies
- Follow all payroll control procedures

Knowledge and skills required:

- Grade 12/Matric
- 1-2 years’ payroll experience
- MS Excel
- Knowledge of Sage 300 would be helpful
- Excellent attention to detail
- Results oriented
- Strong administrative skills
- Accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels
- Highly numerate and methodical
