**Compliance Manager**

A challenging and exciting career opportunity exists for a Compliance Manager within a dynamic and fast-growing company in the fruit/packing industry. We are situated in Vyeboom, Western Cape. The position will report to the QA Manager within the operational department.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Implementation and management of company’s compliance programs
- Responsible for the implementation of the BRC systems in the packhouses.
- Responsible for all document control (FSQMS) and implementation
- Advise management on any changes in food safety standards and regulations
- Identify risk and advise on ways to mitigate adverse effects of food safety
- Manage (co-ordinate, conduct, administer, lead, report) full internal and external auditing process
- Responsible for pest control
- Assist growers, customers and marketers with compliance information and documentation.
- Assist Procurement Manager in ensuring that materials purchased from suppliers meet quality assurance and food safety standards (e.g., packaging, chemicals, lubricants)
- Responsible for Environmental compliance (auditing and implementation)
- Collecting of environmental data, completed and submit annual confronting climate change carbon calculator

**Qualifications and Experience**:
**Qualifications**:

- BSc degree or Diploma in Food Science & Technology or related degree or another BSc degree with and additional Food Safety Management

**Experience**:

- 4 years’ prior experience in the management of the full FSQMS (Food Safety Quality Management System), BRC will be preferred
- Proven internal auditing & HACCP training completed by a registered institution

**Other knowledge and skills required**:

- An understanding and or exposure to Global G.A.P. will be advantageous
- An understanding and or exposure to SIZA Environmental and or Woolworths Farming For the Future will be advantageous
- Previous experience within agriculture (fruit) / packhouse experience will be advantageous
- Previous managerial experience
- Previous experience in the management of the implementation of BRC systems in a packhouse environment is essential
- Computer literate with sound knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint (intermediate)
- Has a sound understanding of industry food safety requirements (e.g., BRC, Tesco, Global (G.A.P, HACCP)
- Able to use Standards/Acts to implement and write policies and procedures
- Must demonstrate understanding and knowledge of all aspects of hygiene and food safety Proactive (action orientated)
- Must be able to work independently
- Excellent ability to plan, organise and meet deadlines.

- Ability to compile, analyse and interpret data
- Ability to communicate and work with others towards an outcome
- Able to build strong collaborative working relationships with different levels of employees, growers and customers

**Salary**: R38,000.00 - R52,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Villiersdorp, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma (preferred)

**Experience**:

- quality assurance: 4 years (preferred)
