Job Description

Immigration Graduate/Intern

Interns are responsible for assisting with successful delivery of the team’s overall output work. Reporting to the Managers and the assistant managers. Interns will also take instructions from Senior Consultants and Consultants. Interns are expected to develop expert immigration knowledge on the various jurisdictions they will be exposed to. They should work hand in hand with the team to develop knowledge and expertise.

KEY JOB TASKS- Attending to ad-hoc administrative work tasks as allocated- Data entry on various systems/visa appointment assistance/rescheduling/monitoring-
- Attending client discussions and meetings and taking notesContact immigrations authorities for follow-ups and information- Managing basic financial data for credit card transactions

Required Skills / Abilities- Bachelor’s degree, a Law degree or International relations will be an advantage- Attention to detail- Good organizational and time management skills- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and French preferable- South African national or PR holder- Willing to take responsibility for tasks- Computer literate

Productivity, Accountability and Efficiency- Provides accurate and timely advice to clients and managers- Identifies relevant issues for each matter (legal and procedural)- Demonstrates ability to research complex technical issues and formulate solutions, including completion of appropriate documentation-
- Keeps immigration knowledge up-to-date and is familiar with all relevant legislation, guidance and policy- Actively manages and develops client relationships- Is a reference point on technical issues for their team - assists with their questions and provides guidance- Assists in the preparation/delivery of CPD technical training- Proactively identifies training needs and facilitates less structured training as required- Facilitates High touch calls with new and prospective clients- Is the Level 2 user for dedicated client accounts- Attends client meetings as appropriate- Ensures that billing is conducted in a timely and consistent manner

Communication- Generates clear, well-organized written work-product internally and externally- Able to effectively express oneself verbally in an articulate and polished manner- Strong listening skills- Uses communication skills to influence and achieve objectives- When work is allocated, clarifies with managers issues that are unclear and asks for the necessary information to complete tasks with respect to oneself and on behalf of team members where required- Keeps managers aware of the progress of matters to manage expectations, and informs of conflicting priorities/requesting assistance as problems arise / informing managers of current capacity- Delegates tasks to team members - provides clear instructions and questions them to check their understanding and monitors their output - reviews output of team members- Ensures own work and that of the team is technically accurate, that written communications follow standard layouts, and advice is clear, concise and error free- Plans workload and sets realistic deadlines and priorities for own work and that of their team, taking into account delivery expectations from client and agreed timeframes- Takes on additional projects as required- Follows firm procedures with respect to file maintenance, record keeping and use of Fragomen Connect- Updates Fragomen Connect in real time- Archives paper files consistently and regularly- Teamwork and Personal Leadership- Identifies training and development areas within their team and communicates these needs along with suggested development outcomes to the Manager- Liaises with the Manager on workloads within the team and suggest improvements/ solutions- Communicates performance related issues to the team Manager and provides appropriate support to team member to facilitate performance improvements- Adheres to the SRA Code of Conduct- Accepts responsibility for their work ou
