**Primary objective of the role**:
Read blueprints and specifications. Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards.
Recommend adjustments to the production process. Inspect, test, and measure materials and products being
produced. Measure products with rulers, callipers, gauges, micrometres. Control measurement equipment.
Accept or reject finished items. Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications. Discuss
inspection results with those responsible for products. Report inspection and test data.

**Duties & responsibilities**:
**Primary Duties**:
Ensure that the production team is aware of the importance of quality of work produced for the Company and/or the customer requirements throughout the organization
Inspecting the first component of each production run, making sure that the product is within specification and conforms to the latest revision drawing against calibrated measuring instrument
Ensuring the operators are using the most current documentation and that all aspects of the documentation are filled out correctly
Doing spot checks throughout the shift in order to verify that the product has not deviated from the required specification and drawing
Open Action Requests, make recommendations, and assist in the preventative and corrective actions
Maintain, distribute and control measurement equipment to ensure it conforms to internationally recognised standards
Make decisions regarding quality related issues that may arise within the work environment in order to solve and overcome them as effectively as possible
Consult with Division Engineer or General Manager as required
Assist with on the job training where necessary in order to improve efficiency and quality of operators/machinists
Through QC (inspection) reports, identify problem areas regarding quality and put in place the required preventative measures that will reduce non-conforming components and unnecessary cost to the company
Assist Factory Manager and General Manager with their primary duties

**Secondary duties**:
Enforce the use of the correct PPE at all times
Ensure that good housekeeping is practice within the factory. A good, clean work environment is essential for safety
Be able to handle conflict in the factory
Building team spirit among the workers and motivating good moral through personal involvement
Assist in training material, knowledge, evaluation of effectiveness of training
Be familiar with and initiate disciplinary procedure when needed

**Performance**:
To be measured in terms of:
Ability to carry out all of the primary duties and secondary duties
The success of the production and assembly team as a unit in terms of reaching its stated objectives

**Working Conditions**:

PPE to be worn as required
Factory environment
Occasional overtime or weekend work
Irregular hours at times

**Physical Requirements**:
This job is physically demanding which would require lifting of heavy objects, standing for long periods, do repetitive tasks with few breaks
