The above-mentioned senior position exists within the Corporate Affairs Department, to support the Group’s business strategy and plans, through the establishment of sound relationships and enhancement of communication with external stakeholders.

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:
**Assist with the implementations and effective management of group corporate affairs strategies and plans.**
- Use structured communication programs e.g. advertorial, editorial and/ or the production of corporate publications and brochures to distribute Group information.
- Support the development and maintenance of events or activities to promote the brand using communication channels, resources and media.
- Source appropriate material that will assist with the development of high quality messages, highlighting key initiatives, achievements, projects and events of the Group.
- Assist with the compilation of action plans for media liaison.
- Write articles or provide required information and content for e.g. brochures, poster, video, cd’s website, Intranet, newsletter, external publications and presentations.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements for example the FSB’ rules and principles Data
- Protection Act and Money Laundering regulations, awareness of the Group’s policies and procedures, and the regulations relevant to your role.
- Demonstrate the understanding of how the principle of TCF and the underlying six TCF outcomes impacts the role, and is embedded in the culture of AVBOB.

**Assist with design, implementation and maintenance of a communication strategy for the AVBOB group.**
- Contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of the strategy on a continuous basis.
- Contribute to the compilation of corporate material such video animation, corporate and product videos.

**Support management to establish AVBOB as the brand of choice in the Funeral and Insurance industries.**
- Support all drives to attain total organisation integration and alignment of the AVBOB brand.
- Promote the establishment of the AVBOB brand to external stakeholders.
- Assist management to execute public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favourable image.
- Define objectives and outputs for communication and branding in accordance with the Group’s strategy.
- Contribute to the development of service standards for group corporate affairs.
- Deliver innovation products and service to create opportunities or strategic advantage.
- Measure client satisfaction on a regular basis.
- Draft media releases.
- Submit to various sources including online publications.
- Create networking and relationship building opportunities with relevant stakeholders.
- Keep abreast with developments and needs and provide feedback on identified issues.
- Coordinate media conferences and network with press in order to promote the groups corporate image.

**Perform editorial duties relating to internal and external publications.**
- Liaise with communication agents on an ongoing basis to obtain appropriate material for publication.
- Attend events and identify opportunities in order to obtain information for publication as required.
- Support the corporate communications strategy and promote the corporate image.
- Plan, edit, control and manage the design, layout and content of external publications and printed and electronic communication material.

**Create a world-class infrastructure through good governance and sustainable practices.**
- Contribute to the development of a formal communications policy and procedures to guide all employees when communicating internally and externally.
- Conduct research and write media releases to ensure that it reaches the target audience.
- Submit monthly reports regarding activities and progress towards the attainment of objectives.
- Conduct and analyse research and benchmark trends that could contribute positively to the Group’s strategy and promote the image.

**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION**:

- Recognised 3 years’ qualification in Public Relations/ Business Communication/ Journalism.

**EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION**:

- 5 Years’ experience in public relations and journalism.
- Internal communication/ employee engagement role within the financial service environment.
- Plain language editing.
- Copy writing/ report writing.
- Editorial, press release and feature writing.
- Knowledge of industry.
- Knowledge of media roles.
