The purpose of the role is to manage the support, development and maintenance of the financial aspects of Financial Reporting systems of the General Ledgers as well as participate in research, design, development and testing of improvements or new solutions to ensure financial data integrity. Assist with strategy and business requirements for FC Systems, manage and deliver financial, regulatory and management reports for internal and external reporting. Provide thought leadership, training and support to stakeholders and team.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain standard and custom financial, regulatory, statutory and and management reports to support internal and external reporting
- Evaluate and maintain design sustainability of financial, regulatory and statutory reports
- Design and in specific instances advise on design of hierarchies to support standard and custom reporting user requests
- Propose Master Data, Metadata, and hierarchy changes to simplify reporting
- Support and ensure accuracy of specific financial, regulatory and management reports
- Troubleshoot issues in financial, statutory and regulatory reporting systems and processes and advise users/raise issues to correct
- Critically assess requests for business requirement analysis
- Contribute towards financial systems data alignment and integration by investigating breaks in integration between systems and monitoring fixes
- Identifying opportunities to streamline the use of financial data and system functionality
- Establish and enforce a stable environment for the maintenance/enhancement of financial processes
- Continuously assess the efficiency of systems and processes in place in the department and make detailed recommendations on improvements
- Co-ordinate all maintenance and operational activities performed on the finance system to ensure accuracy and completeness

Education:

- B Degree in Commerce or Advanced Diploma in Accounting or Advanced Diploma/B Tech in Information Technology (NQF Level 7.).

Experience:

- 5 - 8 Years’ experience in banking and/ financial systems
- Understanding of Master Data and hierarchies as it relates to reporting
- Understanding Regulatory Reporting in banking systems
- Legal Entity Annual Financial Statements preparation in banking systems
- Strong process experience in banking/financial systems
- Intermediate to strong exposure to development in financial Reporting tools
- Strong understanding of Excel and Excel Functionality
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
