An exciting Farm Manager position is available at Chiltern Farms, a growing fruit/packing company in Vyeboom, Western Cape. This dynamic Agri business emphasizes modern agriculture through technology and continuous improvement.

The role involves coordinating daily activities and resources to implement farming plans in the most profitable manner whilst cultivating and upholding a high-performance team culture.

We are looking for a driven and dynamic individual.

The position will take full responsibility for an 83-hectare production unit of pome fruit and will report to the General Manager of the farming division.

**Key Performance Areas**

**Financial Control**

Budget compilation, monitoring, reporting and forecasting of labour, equipment and production activities.

**Production management**

Schedule production effectively according to set targets and seasonal requirements.

Effective management of fertilizer and irrigation for area of work.

Control all aspects of pest, disease and pollination tasks.

Oversee that implementation is done according to quality standards and that the plans are executed successfully by the Assistant Farm manager and his teams.

**People Management**

Lead, motivate, coach and develop teams to their full potential.

**Innovation**

Attend field days, seminars, presentations and other sites to stay abreast of new methods and technology.

Oversee implementation of innovative ways of working and management of change.

**Role Requirements**

Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture and Forestry (or a related field)

Minimum of 5 - 7 years practical seasonal experience in pome fruit production and farm management

Minimum of 3 - 5 years in a middle management role

Able to speak, read and write in English

Highly advantageous to converse in Xhosa or Sotho

Must be physically fit to perform the work.

Valid driver's license

Must be able to work overtime, public holidays, and weekends if and when required

**Skills and knowledge**

Knowledge of cultivating plants to produce fruit to high standards.

Knowledge of audit standards (SIZA, BRC, Global GAP)

Advanced computer skills (MS Office suite)

Knowledge of IT systems (E.g Power BI, Farm Trace, ACCPAC, DF Probes) will be advantageous

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From R65 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:
