**Fashion Merchandise Allocator**

**Job Overview**: The Fashion Merchandise Allocator is responsible for managing the distribution of merchandise across multiple retail locations or distribution centres. This role requires a keen understanding of inventory management, demand forecasting, and sales trends within the fashion industry. The allocator ensures that the right products are available in the right place at the right time, optimising stock levels and maximising sales potential.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Inventory Allocation**: Distribute fashion merchandise to stores or warehouses based on sales forecasts, seasonal trends, and store performance, ensuring optimal stock levels for each location.
- **Demand Forecasting**: Analyse historical sales data, market trends, and customer preferences to forecast demand and adjust inventory allocations accordingly.
- **Sales Analysis**: Monitor sales performance and adjust allocations to reflect changes in demand, ensuring that underperforming stores or regions are replenished with the right products.
- **Collaborate with Buyers and Planners**: Work closely with the buying team to understand product assortments, seasonal collections, and promotions. Ensure alignment between buying decisions and inventory levels.
- **Stock Management**: Track stock levels in various locations and prevent stockouts or overstock situations. Coordinate replenishment to maintain a balanced inventory.
- **Reporting & Analytics**: Generate and maintain reports on inventory levels, stock turnover, and sales performance. Use data insights to recommend improvements to merchandise planning and allocation strategies.
- **Store Visits & Feedback**: Conduct occasional visits to retail locations to assess merchandise presentation and inventory management, gathering feedback from store teams on product performance.
- **Coordination with Logistics**: Work with logistics and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery of merchandise to stores, optimizing delivery schedules and transportation routes.
- **Ad-hoc Projects**: Assist with ad-hoc projects such as markdown strategies, seasonal launches, and promotional events.

**Key Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Education**: A bachelor’s degree in business, fashion merchandising, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- **Experience**: 2+ years of experience in a retail or fashion merchandising role, with a focus on inventory management or allocation.
- **Analytical Skills**: Strong ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make decisions based on sales data and market insights.
- **Communication Skills**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- **Attention to Detail**: High level of accuracy in managing inventory and allocations.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficient in Excel, with experience in inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and other related software.
- **Fashion Industry Knowledge**: Understanding of the fashion retail industry, including seasonal trends, product cycles, and customer behaviour.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to resolve issues related to stock discrepancies, low-performing products, and supply chain delays.
