Orion Real Estate Limited is seeking to employ an Air-Conditioning Technician to join our dynamic_
- Maintenance Team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of the entire portfolio of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment as well as the management of all new installations, including project management._

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 12 and / or equivalent qualification;
- Must be Computer literate - MS Office - in order to deal with quotes;
- Red Seal Electrical qualification;
- Refrigeration qualification with Trade Test (Commercial);
- Must have at least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience;
- Working at heights certification required;
- Fault finding skills;
- Experience with and skills required to work with power tools;
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations;
- Good communication skills;
- Valid driver's license;
- Gas handling license.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Carrying out repairs and / or routine maintenance duties on air-conditioning equipment, building facilities and offices, building systems, grounds and structures;
- Coordinating efforts with company's contracted HVAC vendors to ensure company HVAC systems are functioning perfectly;
- Performing inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installation of air-conditioning systems, including D.D.C. building control and pneumatic systems, cooling systems, refrigerators, ice machines, refrigerated water coolers, walk-in refrigerators and / or similar equipment;
- Carrying out maintenance checks on heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, cleaning evaporator drain pans, coils and filters, lubricating belts, compressors, thermostats, fans, floating elements, and defrost timers;
- Placing airflow controls to company and / or tenant preference by adjusting dampers, splitter, diffusers, and fan speeds; take away, clean, and change filters and strainer; remake, repair, and paint metal and wood cooling fans and towers; adding the right amount of chemicals to water towers to prevent corrosion and rust;
- Running equipment, observing its operation, and reading instruments and gauges, including Volt-Ohm meters, finding out temperature gauges and adjusting mechanisms, including valves, pumps and controls to direct levels of fluid, temperature, and pressure; charging with specified types and amount of refrigerant, and bleeding contaminants from systems; inspection of gauges and carrying out periodic preventative maintenance checks;
- Carrying out overhauling and servicing of refrigeration units by repairing, changing, or re-working broken parts of compressors, condensers, and vacuum pumps; inspecting Freon level in refrigerator units and fixing any leak observed, and charging units as required; cleaning and changing filters on ice machines and / or similar equipment; inspecting heating elements and changing if required;
- Taking away pumps and motors, changing bearings and shafts, repacking and performing reinstallations, performing adjustment on expansion valves, changing, fixing, and re-calibrating humidistats and thermostats, changing and / or replacing hinges, gaskets, and hardware;
- Ordering of replacement of equipment parts as required and performing repairs as ordered, and keeping record of servicing done on all equipment;
- Providing assistance to colleagues in the department to effectively maintain, and repair equipment, buildings, and municipal properties;
- Carrying out minor plumbing maintenance work, including changing or repairing of leaks in taps and drains, trenching and laying of new lines, unclogging of drains etc.;
- Providing support after working hours, if necessary, in situations likes emergencies, workshop, commission meetings, and other company functions;
- Perform related duties that may be assigned
