We seek to recruit a positive and self-motivated individual to join our Claims Department in the capacity of Senior Claims Assessor.

**Senior Claims Assessor**:
This position does not require you to sell any products or policies to the public, however you will be required to assess claims and communicate with external clients as well as with other departments internally. The incumbent will be based at our head office in Bellville and normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays 8:00am to 5:00pm.

**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Ensure that assessment is finalized within the maximum period.
- Ensure that the claims are successfully processed.
- Ensure that the claims are accurately assessed.

**Qualifications and experience**
- Grade 12 or similar qualification is essential.
- Passed Grade 12 Mathematics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is essential.
- Minimum of 4 years’ proven work experience in assessing Individual Funeral Insurance claims.
- Additional experience in the Financial Services Industry will be beneficial.
- Computer proficiency to work effectively with certain assessment tools or software.
- Experience with MS Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook are required.
- Must have a minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute.
- RE5 (desirable)
- A tertiary qualification in business, management or finance is desirable.

- Strong ability to effectively communicate with claimants, colleagues, and management.

- Strong ability to work under pressure.
- Deliver results and meet customer expectations.
- Must be able to work overtime if required by the company from time to time.

Should you be successful for the position, you will be required to work for a probation period of 8-months due to the intensity and difficulty rate of the position.
