As a senior member of the Everyday Banking (EB) Business Transformation and Portfolio Management team, the incumbent has accountability, for the co-ordination, oversight, and direct translation of the Everyday Banking Cluster strategies into the integrated book of work (BoW). Development and interpretation of data, MI and fact bases as well as the alignment of the strategy plans and business cases to support growth and target market share and revenue ambition.

**Job Description**:
Accountability: Portfolio Strategy and Operations
- Oversee and align change programmes aimed at driving business strategy and continuous improvement of operational activities.
- Actively promote and manage the collaborative engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, service providers business partners and other Absa entities.
- Identify strategic role players and stakeholders and engage all stakeholders, role players and industry forums to understand changes to strategy, regulations, and markets.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and role players and ensure that the overall portfolio is well positioned to provide competitive and industry leading services.
- Ensure that the long-term strategy clearly articulates strategic targets and metrics aligned to the delivery of agreed strategy against the EB strategic objectives, targets, and shareholder expectations.
- Orchestrate the necessary processes to facilitate regular strategic alignment between Group, EB and then ensure that this cascaded to the individual clusters.
- Ensure the fulfilment of all required governance activities including tracking and reporting of the overall EB portfolio.
- Ensure alignment of portfolio standards with business strategy in relation to implementation of SaFe process standards and framework.
- Investigate effectiveness of processes and systems in use in the EB portfolio and make alterations where required while ensuring adherence to group standards.
- Continuously improving the capacity management and benefits management capability, by designing and implementatiing processes and practices aligned to SaFe standards.
- Oversee the implementation of, and conformance to, Group risk and compliance requirements within the operating environment, in line with set risk appetite.
- Provide high level conceptual input as well as quality assurance into the funding councils, Establish lean budgets and guardrails.
- Drive integrated planning across Everyday Banking of initiatives aligned to the broader vision, architecture, and strategy of the organisation in relation to book build.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual operations budget process.\
- Serve as a primary point of contact for all change related initiatives to be placed on the BoW, inclusive of any changes.
- Responsible for executive reporting inclusive of monthly MBR’s and the overall EB Tech and Change scorecard
- Responsible f or all Change Execution reports MI and BI

Accountability: Portfolio Risk and Governance
- Ensure that the control approach is fully aligned to business priorities, both structurally and functionally.
- Oversee the governance controls for the EB portfolio to achieve excellence through well-defined, scalable risk management processes.
- Assist the business to proactively manage issues and emerging risks.
- Ensure that all programmes and initiatives undertaken by the area conform to the Group's change methodology.
- Review programme documentation/evidence for each component prior to requesting quality assurance reviews on the work completed.
- Action and drive a culture of proactive compliance in the function.

Accountability: People Management
- Focus on talent management, development, resourcing, and retention.
- Embed formal Performance Development and informal coaching in the business unit.
- Establish and maintain a succession plan for the key roles in the area and review and approve succession plans for one level below.
- Establish key roles in the area; ensure that there are role profiles for each role.
- With the support from the HR Business Partner, interview and recruit direct reports and provide support to them during the recruitment of their teams on request.
- Review training needs analysis conducted by managers. Approve training budgets and review training expenditure to ensure that allocated funds were utilised.

Education and Experience (preferred)
- MBA, or similar post graduate qualification
- Project Management Diploma or Certificate
- Diploma from accredited business school / A business related post graduate degree in Business Management
- Ten (10) years proven people managem
