Lmi Technician

Working in a team with an assistant.

Responsible for company tool of trade vehicle and all company equipment and spares.

Checking that Job sets are complete and securely packed for transport.

Ensuring all required qualifications and licenses are in place and valid for himself and the assistant and that the Technician and Supervisor understand the contents.

Repairing and ensuring load testing of client cranes and lifting equipment.

Inspect, repair, refurbish, load test, erect, commission overhead cranes and hoists and any other overhead lifting equipment to ensure equipment is compliant with all statutory regulations and relevant legislation.

Understanding all client requirements for the specific job on any day.

Awareness of client zero tolerance on substance abuse.

Ensuring all paperwork and formalities are properly completed.

Ensuring that equipment other than the job set are available for the job being done; i.e., weights, ladders, cherry pickers etc.

Abide by all safety requirements and use of correct safety equipment.

Assembly of new and refurbished cranes.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualified tradesman, preferably electrician or millwright

Registered with Engineering Council of South Africa

Experience on all makes of cranes and hoists will be an advantage

Ability to understand Engineering Drawings and Specifications

Experience or knowledge of cranes and their manufacture would be an advantage

Adherence to deadlines and working under pressure a priority

Good admin and paperwork skills for report writing purposes

Good interpersonal skills
