Product Superintendent

Matric is essential
A relevant technical qualification (minimum NQF 6) or at least 6-10 years Supervisory / Management experience in the Printing and / or Packaging industries
Implementation of Quality Standards for the food and packaging industry is essential
Operations or Production management experience and qualifications will be advantageous
Considerable knowledge of Printing and Packaging processes and its interaction with other services or departments in the business, with specific experience in the management of production facilities and raw materials functions ;
Computer Literacy in the Microsoft Office suite with an understanding of and relevant experience in the utilization of ERP/MRP systems in a production and sales environment will be advantageous;
An understanding of budgeting and basic financial principles
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience in the handling of People & Resource Management;
Proven experience in planning and scheduling as well as analytical problem-solving;
The ability to take initiative and direct the activities related to the areas of responsibility.
Experience in handling and implementing health and safety measures to ensure a safe working environment
Excellent communicator
Ability to solve problems and make swift, sound decisions.
Developing and implementing relevant WIs or SOPs for the respective departments to ensure standardization and sustainability
Participating in and coaching team members in analytical problem solving and continuous improvement, whilst continuously finding ways to enhance Performance and Quality;
Meeting and monitoring the flow of raw materials and consumables for Production ,Finishing/Converting;
Monitoring the implementation and improvement of Quality and Food Safety standards;
Overseeing the delivery of finished product according to schedules;
Managing Human Resources in his/her areas of responsibilities
Ensuring implementation of Preventative Maintenance objectives;
Tracking, analysing and correcting departmental performance;
Handling all relevant communication in the business through reporting and meeting attendance;
Managing work-flows in the factory and solving pressure points.
Managing and ensuring SHEQ compliance and safety access protocols
Ensure that housekeeping is maintained as per 5S standards and ensure continuous audit compliance.
Manage production out-put as per the production plan
