We are looking for a highly motivated individual with good experience in wine sales, to provide support for the Company. You will need to support the team by showing initiative, good communication skills, good attention to detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines in a multi-task environment. In the role of Assistant to the Shop Manager you will need to possess a good working knowledge of IT, to include Pastel and MS Office and able to work well as part of a team.

To assist in providing efficient and comprehensive support to the Manager, point of sale and tasting counter. As well as report to the owners on relevant matters.

**General Purpose**

To plan and carry out all sales activities on assigned accounts or areas. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and managing quality of product and service delivery.

**Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Conduct market research and surveys
- Develop and maintain a customer database
- Develop and maintain CONTROL sales and promotional materials
- Develop and make presentations of company products and services to current and potential clients
- Develop SUGGEST sales proposals
- Ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships
- Follow up on sales activity
- Generate and qualify leads
- Maintain sales activity records and reports MANAGER.
- Make sales calls to new and existing clients
- Monitor and report on sales activities and follow up for management.
- Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development.
- Negotiate with clients
- Participate in sales events
- Plan and conduct direct marketing activities
- Prepare EXCIQUOTE?? sales action plans and schedules
- Quality checks on product and service delivery
- Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person

**Other activities**:

- Maintain and deal with all paperwork involved with the recruitment of clients. This includes taking up of references as required, liaising with your superior and the owner in coordinating information and ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept.
- Responsible for accurate work at Point of Sales.
- Assist with gathering information to aid members of the Team in their activity.
- Assist with the maintenance of systems of record-keeping and filing (manual and electronic).
- Support with the input of data on Pastel, Excel and Word.
- Respond to enquiries received (correspondence, reception and telephone calls), directly or as appropriate.
- Assist with the work of other members of the team.
- Follow through the shipping documentation as required by your superior.
- Assist with, communicate, contract and ensure success of the organizing of the various wine celebrations
- To support the checking of the shop’s weekly paperwork, liaising with team and management where appropriate.
- Identify and report on discrepancies on a regular basis.
- Research and investigate information to enable strategic decision-making by others.
- Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management.
- Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
- Log information on calls received, where required, and maintain detailed and accurate records.
- File data and perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned and for other departments as needed.
- Operate a variety of standard office machines, including a personal computer and a variety of computer software, phone, fax, calculator, scanner, shredding machine and photocopy machine.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, suppliers and the general public.
- Perform reception duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner.
