**THE JOB AT A GLANCE**

As an ICT Technical Architect, you will be reporting to the ICT Systems Manager and you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the architecture for ICT systems and to enforce and ensure proper architecture, in line with architectural principles, is adhered to during systems development, enhancements and procurement of systems.

**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**

**Collaborate with stakeholders to determine needs and identify appropriate solutions**
- Engage with business on an ongoing basis to understand company needs in order to define system specifications.
- Plan and design the structure of a technology solution based on stakeholder needs.
- Communicate system requirements to software development teams.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods to meet system needs.
- Create the optimum technical solution in the context of the customer's environment, requirements, and financial resources.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for each project.
- Ensure a quality system design which provides good system performance, an effective human-machine interface, optimal operational cost, and flexibility for future change.
- Ensure that all components of the technical architecture are properly implemented and adhered to.
- Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure.
- Monitor systems to ensure they meet both user needs and business goals.
- Act as a focal point for all technical issues and initiatives on the project.
- Manage Software Architecture to ensure that it meets RMA Non-functional requirements (Non-negotiable functionalities).
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that systems are up and running.

**Programme management**
- Oversee assigned programs (e.g., conduct code review) and provide guidance to team members.
- Maximize the productivity of the project team by installing an effective development environment, establishing programming, design, and other technical standards, training team members, and providing advisory and trouble-shooting support and monitoring of same.
- Develop and enhance the base architecture of core systems and ensure best practices.
- Ensure that systems conform to IT Governance.
- Collaborate with developers on system development, sprint planning and implementation.
- Oversee correct alignment and implementation to agreed architect.

**Day to day management of operations**
- Assist with solving technical problems when they arise.
- Address technical concerns, ideas and suggestions.
- Coach and develop developers on framework implementation (Tech sessions).

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?**
- NQF Level 7: related Degree in ICT
- Microsoft Certified Architect (Minimum requirement)
- A minimum of 5 years in a technical role such as technical lead or architect
- Understanding of strategic IT solutions
- Experience in service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Experience designing solutions at company level
- Experience working on complex company systems
- Experience using DevOps
