Vat Administrator

**Main purpose of the job**:
- To provide effective, comprehensive, and efficient administrative support to the Finance Department and assist in various VAT-related activities and tasks
**Location**:
- **31 Princess of Wales Terrace, Parktown - Johannesburg**
**Key performance areas**:
- Prepare WHC VAT schedules monthly for the SARS audit
- Prepare FDFP VAT schedules monthly for the SARS audit
- Download all the SARS VAT samples from WHC Online
- Request all other VAT samples from the site
- Check if all documentation is in order, if not in order, request the correct documents
- Submit the required documents to the accountant for checking
- Back-up for Finance Administrators only relating to VAT
- Weekly balancing of the Sales report and VAT output GL
- Weekly monitoring of the Capex VAT Input account ensuring there are no Pro-forma invoices captured
- Assist in clearing VAT asset & liability schedule
- Assist with new VAT registrations and deregistration
- Assist stakeholders with queries and, if applicable, redirect them accordingly
- Assist with ad-hoc administrative duties requested by the manager

- **Minimum 1-years’ experience in administration**
**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:
- Must have exceptional organizational and administrative skills, together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Confident personality with a proactive approach
- Able to exercise discretion, initiative, and independent decision-making
- Able to prioritize own workload and work towards deadlines
- Confidentiality, tact, and discretion must be maintained at all times
