**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
**Job Title**:Technical Marketing Specialist / Actuary

**Location**: Johannesburg

**Duration**: Permanent

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Actuarial Analysis: Conduct actuarial analysis on insurance products and services to evaluate profitability, risk exposure, and pricing strategies.
- Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.
- Pricing and Profitability Modeling: Develop and refine pricing models based on actuarial analysis, market trends, and customer segmentation to optimize profitability and growth.
- Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actuarial insights and guidance in developing new insurance products or enhancing existing offerings.
- Marketing Strategy: Develop data-driven marketing strategies and campaigns to target specific customer segments, improve customer acquisition, and enhance customer retention.
- Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights, identify patterns, and support decision-making processes.
- Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure marketing initiatives and materials comply with relevant insurance regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Work closely with marketing, sales, underwriting, and finance teams to align actuarial analysis with business goals and objectives.
- Technical Communication: Present complex actuarial concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Industry Expertise: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements in actuarial science, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge and provide innovative solutions.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATION**:

- Actuarial degree
- 10-15 Actuarial Exams
- Significant progress towards qualifying as an actuary
- Fellow/Qualified Actuary is advantageous

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (relevant or in a similar role)**:

- Minimum 8 years experience in an insurance regulatory environment
- Minimum 6 years experience within actuarial environment, with specific experience related to quotes/pricing/product/corporate evaluations etc.
- Proven experience in marketing or product management, with a solid understanding of marketing concepts, segmentation, and strategy development.
- Experience in interpreting complex data and translating it into actionable insights.
- Project Management experience. Handling multiple projects at once, with a proven track record of delivery and results.
- Strong knowledge of actuarial principles, methodologies, and relevant software tools (such as Excel, SAS, R, or Python).
