Lecturer qualifications and requirements:_**

**Minimum requirements**:

- PhD in social work or related field, a bachelor’s degree in social work, is a requirement.
- Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
- Knowledge and experience in Occupational Social work or Employee Assistance Programme, Social Policy and Social Development.
- Teaching experience in Occupational Social Work.
- Proven research ability as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations or research reports.

**Responsibilities**:

- To develop a skills manual for the postgraduate field instruction programme
- To facilitate skills training workshops for postgraduate
- To facilitate tutorials for the field instruction programme
- To conduct field instruction assessments for the postgraduate course
- Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Supervise Fourth year, Master’s and PhD research students;
- Conduct research at a nationally and internationally competitive levels.
- Participate in curriculum design and development of undergraduate and post graduate modules as required.
- Conduct academic administration and other duties, as determined by the Head of Department.
- Participate in the Department's strategic initiatives related to teaching, research, and community engagement.
- To participate in Departmental and school committees

**Remuneration**: In accordance with qualifications and experience, and inline with the university pay scale.
