**Position Overview**:
As a Logistics Supervisor, you will oversee the smooth and efficient movement of goods from our warehouse to customers and from suppliers to our warehouse. Your role is critical in ensuring timely deliveries, cost-effective operations, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Transportation Management**: Coordinate the movement of goods, manage transportation routes, schedule deliveries, and ensure timely collection and delivery of products.
- **Warehouse Management**: Oversee dispatching processes and manage the handover from consolidation to dispatch.
- **Quality Control**: Ensure all products meet required quality standards before dispatch, including regular quality checks.
- **Cost Management**: Assist in managing the logistics budget, analyze transportation costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- **Team Management**: Lead a team of logistics staff, including drivers, warehouse workers, and administrative personnel. Responsibilities include training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and maintaining safety standards.
- **Compliance**: Ensure adherence to Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations at all times.
**Duties & Tasks**:
- Optimize routes and manage driver scheduling and truck loads.
- Ensure accurate handover of orders and delegate tasks to dispatch and drivers.
- Maintain a clean and organized dispatch area, preserving the cold chain.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, manage refueling, and ensure vehicle maintenance.
- Handle driver trip sheets, manage dispatch timings, and ensure timely reporting.
- Monitor and report logistics operations, including driver performance, vehicle condition, and logistics satisfaction levels.
- Manage vehicle licensing, insurance, and traffic fines.
- Ensure all drivers have the necessary tools and PPE.
- Onboard new drivers and facilitate continuous driver training.
- Maintain all dispatch documentation, both hard and soft copies.
- Provide regular updates to the Logistics Manager.
**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**:
- **Deliveries in Full**: Maintain non-deliveries within a 5% benchmark with a variance tolerance of 2%.
- **Driver Rating**: Achieve and maintain a driver rating score of 85%.
- **Budget Management**: Stay within budgeted overhead costs with a 5% variance tolerance.
- **Employee Satisfaction**: Enhance employee engagement, reduce turnover, and support employee development.
- **Fleet Asset Utilization**: Ensure optimal use of fleet assets as per targets.
- **Documentation Management**: Maintain all required dispatch files and records.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in logistics or warehouse management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics software.
