**Purpose of the Job**:
The purpose of the Security Analyst I role is to analyse existing security controls and create new and enhanced security measures in order to proactively safeguard sensitive data against accentuating security threats. The role is also responsible for the development and execution of large-scale cyber security initiatives and requires a professional with strong analytical problem-solving skills, who can work in a fast-paced environment and has a clear passion for cybersecurity and related technologies.
**Job Objectives**:
Support efforts to counter security breaches and anticipating and reducing the likelihood of future security alerts and incidents.
Conduct threat and risk analysis and analyze the business impact of new and existing systems and technologies to minimize security risk issues.
Collaborate with the IT Security team to define, plan, implement, maintain, and upgrading security measures, policies, and controls.
Identify, investigate, and respond to information security event and work with Digital Forensics and Incident Response teams.
Conduct proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate solutions.
Identify new security threats by conducting vulnerability and risk assessments.
Drive efforts to counter security breaches, for the purpose of anticipating and mitigating the likelihood of future security alerts and incidents.
Recommend innovative technologies and security measures that will bolster the security of the IT environment.
Develop and implement information security standards, guidelines, procedures in line with industry best practices.
Provide assurance through collaboration with other stakeholders that all IT platforms meet the organisation’s security requirements.
Automate security controls, data, and processes to provide enhanced metrics.
Translate security and technical requirements into business requirements and communicate security risks to the relevant stakeholders across the group.
Produce intelligence reports and perform threat research.
**Qualifications**:
Diploma / Degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or any related field.
Recognized industry certifications in cybersecurity such as CISSP
**Experience**:
+2 years of experience in cybersecurity, with solid experience across a variety of security products including firewalls, EDR, SIEM, WAF, IAM, PAM, DLP and encryption solutions.
Hands on knowledge of Information Security standards, architecture, and models.
Experience in Incident Response: including the ability to document security threats, resolve technical faults and allocate resources to deliver the applicable solutions.
Solid understanding of security frameworks (NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO Standards and MITRE Framework) and risk management methodologies.
**Knowledge and Skills**:
Information Security Management - analyses system or data governance processes, security incidents, threats and vulnerabilities with specific reference to business owners of information security and procedural oversight and accountability, as well as the possible impact of these on business solutions and the required remediation solutions to inform cybersecurity policies, standards, best practices, tracking regulatory compliance and performance metrics.
Technical aptitude with a passion and excitement for cyber intelligence systems.
Problem-solving skills - Able to collect, organise and assimilate disparate, multiple and complex security threats or flaws within an environment to swifty arrive at solutions.
High level of self-motivation and drive to meet and exceed on goals and expectations and engage and energise others to deliver on expectations. Comfortable taking decisions and dealing with a range of problem-solving challenges independently.
