Main purpose of this job

Finbond Mutual Bank is looking for a Credit Risk Manager to manage their Credit Risk function and processes. This individual needs to assess, manage and monitor the credit risk portfolio of their client base against the backdrop of Finbond’s strategy and risk appetite, with a priority given to business banking and business credit risk.

Critical outcomes
- Develop and maintain a well-designed objective framework to do a risk analysis, ensures a logical flow of information, drives the conclusion reached, allows business partners to codify their thoughts, allows others to opine and decide (e.g., a credit committee, internal or external audit oversight etc.), set approval conditions and finally it is a record.

2. Prepare credit risk analysis and assessment that is:

- Structured and covers the rationale/description of the credit transaction, the risks (gross and net) and the sources of repayment.
- Balancing risk and return considerations.
- Analyse in context of the industry/sector of the potential client and its strategy to include both quantitative (review three years financial statements and ratio analysis) and qualitative (management assessment, business model, sector and macro environment).
- Determine a credit rating or score if possible.
- Discuss stakeholders
- understand the clients value chain, organigram, social, environmental legal and regulatory issues.
- Implement efficient and effective monitoring and reporting process (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual or ad-hoc).
- Do credit governance reporting standard to the Risk Committee and Board (covenant and risk triggers, early warning and watch lists, excesses over limits, overdue reviews, security value monitoring and outstanding documents).

3. Policy formulation:

- Review and propose enhancements to include small and medium segment to the following:
1. Key Risk Indicators and tolerance parameters specific to credit risk

2. Credit Risk Policy for product ranges

3. Credit processes and procedures manual

4. Develop additional guidance for specialised products (e.g., property finance), where required.

4. Other:

- Risk and Credit Training
- ECL Model /IFRS 9 input and review
- Model Risk
- Credit Stress Testing

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor of Commerce (Risk Management)
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields

**Experience**:
Min. 5 years’ experience in Credit Risk Management

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Preference: Structured finance and credit risk experience
- Strong analytical skills
- A sound understanding of legal risk pertaining to legal documentation for lending transaction
- Impeccable understanding of financial statements, ratios, and concepts

**Additional Requirements**:
Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a high-pressure work environment, with varying degrees of supervision
