-The main purpose of this position is to lead the delivery, development, support and maintenance of business intelligence (BI) reporting and analytics solutions as well as services across the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
-Detailed Description

- Own the support and maintenance of BI reporting and analytics solutions across the entire SARB landscape.
-- Lead engagements and problem-solving sessions with cross-functional stakeholders - from technical data teams to senior management - towards the resolution of all BI reporting and analytics problems, defects, faults and incidents.
-- Provide technical expertise and guidance towards the resolution of all problems, defects, faults and incidents relating to BI reporting and analytics solutions.
-- Control and approve access rights and permission types across all BI reporting and analytics solutions.
-- Ensure an understanding of clients’ ongoing reporting and analytics requirements and lead continuous enhancement of productionised solutions and services.
-- Ensure optimal long-term performance of all BI reporting and analytics solutions (solutions should be optimised and continuously available).
-- Ensure all deployable BI reporting and analytics solutions have met BI production standards and stage gates prior to taking ownership of production reporting and analytical solutions.
-- Proactively identify and drive initiatives to ensure compliance with and adherence to security and data standards with respect to all BI productionised reporting and analytics solutions and services.
-- Ensure business continuity management (BCM) and disaster recovery (DR) plans for all relevant productionised reporting, and that analytics solutions are successfully planned, executed and continuously evaluated.
-- Ensure that audit findings and risks against production reporting and analytics solutions are resolved.
-- Report and make recommendations on performance, improvements and availability of productionised BI solutions to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
-- Keep abreast of industry best practices and technologies, and lead the implementation of new reporting and analytics technologies thereof, to optimise effective and efficient BI solutions and services.
-- Fulfil the line management function pertaining to the development and performance of the delivery.
-- Ensure that support and maintenance planning and practices are aligned with strategic business goals and the overall strategic vision of the Business Solutions and Technology Department ( BSTD).
-Job Requirements

- a Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management/Technology, Mathematics or an equivalent qualification;
-- 8 to 10 years’ experience in building, maintaining and optimising BI analytics and reporting solutions as well as 5 years’ experience in leading the development and support of BI reporting and analytics solutions; and
-- 3 to 5 years’ experience in managing technical development and support teams.
-Additional requirements include:

-- practical knowledge of data engineering and analytics concepts and best practices, including data operations, development operations, development security operations and machine learning operations ( MLOps );
-- ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable and robust code in object-oriented programming language (e.g. Python, Java, Scala in a professional setting);
-- proven experience in building using BI technologies such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Power BI and SAS for BI reporting and analysis use cases;
-- experience with cloud technologies such Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Oracle Analytics Server (OAS);
-- experience working across structured, semi-structured and unstructured data;
-- experience with database technologies such Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, MySQL, PostgreSQL, IBM Db2 and NoSQL;
-- familiarity with time series and graph database types and related technologies (e.g. Druid, InfluxDB and Neo4j) would be advantageous;
-- familiarity with data streaming, analytics, meta and master data management, and data virtualisation tools sets;
-- industry, organisational and business awareness; and
-- knowledge and skill in:

-- quality assurance;
-- continuous learning, improvement and/or professional development;
-- business continuity and planning;
-- IT enablement planning;
-- IT transformation and innovation;
-- release management;
-- infrastructure design and development;
-- systems integration;
-- workload estimation; and
-- technical analysis.
