We are looking for a Reservations Consultant to join our team, on a fixed term contract (6 month maternity cover), based in our Cape Town office. You will be responsible to provide support for our luxury tour operating division by quoting and handling touring files as and when necessary.
- Making reservations and preparing rate proposals and following up on the business to ensure revenue.
- Ensure accurate & detailed capturing of reservations.
- Quoting, managing and making tour operating bookings including flights, transfers, restaurant reservation, as well as accommodation bookings.
- Ensure accurate records about guests’ bookings, payments, and any additional information that colleagues might need when interacting with a guest.
- Answer reservations calls in a pleasant and courteous manner, in accordance to LQA standards.
- Based on the nature of the reservation required, always check the availability of the room, complete the full sequence of steps of the reservation process to book and confirm each reservation in accordance with the department and Company’s policies and procedures.
- Up-selling, when appropriate, by informing guests of additional services or special packages.
- Assist & maintain an efficient administration system within the department.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant diploma/degree from a reputable institution - advantageous.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in a reservation’s role.
- Group’s reservations experience advantageous.
- Previous hospitality and travel experience essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- High level of computer literacy.
- The ability to work effectively in a pressurised environment.
- The ability to work well within a team environment and without supervision.
- Attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
- Exceptional telephone etiquette and mannerisms required.
