ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Head of Finance at HyperionDev you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company.

In this role you will take ownership of financial & investment planning and will oversee our financial planning and budgeting, report and present results to our investors, and ensure financial controls to support the optimal deployment of funds. Furthermore, you will lead the Finance team with regards to all financial reporting and analysis of the business, reporting to the Board, preparations of financials for management or audit, budgeting and forecast modelling, supporting compliance, cost analysis and management, tax management, and managing payments to suppliers.

You will also provide the CEO strategic support in fundraising, investor meetings, and investment due diligence.

The team is supported by an external accounting firm/specialist where needed, and a Wellness division assisting with payroll and budgeting to ensure that the internal systems of a high-growth tech support scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership and management:

- Manage finance resources and lead the organisation effectively and ethically, understanding stakeholder needs and priorities
- Manage stakeholder expectations and needs by aligning the organisation's objectives, engaging stakeholders effectively and communicating relevant information
- Governance, risk and control
- Ensure effective and appropriate governance, allowing evaluation, monitoring and implementation of appropriate risk identification procedures; by designing and implementing effective internal audit and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and protect the company from legal and financial risks.
- Corporate and Business Reporting
- Prepare and communicate high-quality business reports to support stakeholder understanding and decision-making including:

- Prepare monthly management reports.
- Identify, recommend and implement process improvements in bookkeeping.
- Interface with the company's external accounting firm on annual accounts.
- Reconciliation of bank accounts, supplier accounts, and customer accounts.
- Prepare and submit PAYE, NI and VAT for the UK and SA companies.
- Support in preparing for and meeting statutory, regulatory and investor reporting requirements.
- Model expenses and revenues to help forecast the company P&L and cash-in-bank on a monthly and annual basis.
- Analyse business data to provide feedback on operational performance, optimising costs and planning revenue growth.
- Identify areas of improvement to make financial reporting more useful and actionable for strategy-setting.
- Financial Management
- Implement effective investment and financing decision within the business environment in areas such as investment appraisal, business reorganisation, tax and risk management, treasury and working capital management to ensure value creation
- Manage our financial planning and capital deployment, working with Divisional Leads to ensure that operational growth targets are met within budget.
- Support the management in strategic matters including inter-company transactions, fundraising, investor presentations, and preparing for due diligence.
