- We are looking for an Urban and Community Liaison Manager.
The Urban and Community Liaison Manager plays a vital role in fostering positive relationships and effective communication between urban development projects and the communities they impact. This role serves as a bridge between developers, local government entities, community organisations, and residents. The manager is responsible for ensuring that urban development initiatives align with the needs and values of the community, while also addressing any potential concerns or conflicts that may arise.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Community Engagement**: Engage with local communities to gather insights, feedback, and concerns related to urban development projects. Organise community meetings, workshops, and events to promote open dialogue and collaboration.
- **Stakeholder Coordination**: Collaborate with government agencies, non-profit organisations, businesses, and other stakeholders to facilitate a comprehensive approach to urban development that considers diverse perspectives.
- **Project Communication**: Serve as the primary point of contact for the public, relaying project updates, timelines, and potential impacts in clear and accessible language. Maintain transparent communication channels to ensure community members are well-informed.
- **Issue Resolution**: Address community concerns, grievances, and conflicts that may arise during the course of urban development projects. Work towards finding mutually beneficial solutions that balance the interests of both developers and the community.
- **Advocacy**: Advocate for community needs and priorities within the planning and decision-making processes of urban development projects. Ensure that the interests of marginalised or vulnerable groups are taken into account.
- **Cultural Sensitivity**: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the cultural, social, and historical context of the community. Foster an inclusive environment that respects the diversity of the population and integrates local cultural elements into urban planning.
- **Data Collection and Analysis**: Collect and analyse data related to community feedback, demographic trends, and project outcomes. Use this information to inform decision-making and adjust strategies as needed.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- NQF 7 in Community Development, Urban Planning, Town Planning or similar is required
- Valid Driver’s License
