**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develop detailed designs with a team of engineers by means of 3D and 2D CAD Software
- Provide support to the sales team with 3D concept layouts for accurate bill of materials
- Create detail models from design engineer’s basic models, drawings and sketches
- Modify models to suit design specifications per project/clients specifications
- Work closely with all departments in the company as and where required
- Measure or verify equipment and parts to redesign or re-manufacture
- Produce detailed drawings for manufacturing
- Effectively communicate information to co-workers, customers and suppliers, which they require to do their jobs. This communication must be objective and accomplished in a neutral to positive manner
- Compilation of parts manuals
- Check fellow colleague’s drawings to close the loop
- Must be willing to travel to client sites and verify design**Inherent Requirements**

**Requirement Skills**
- Proficient with 3D CAD software design and draughting with the ability to use industry standard CAD systems for design and documentation
- Extensive experience using
- SolidWorks 3D CAD
- Draftsight/Autocad
- SolidWorks File & Data Management
- Computer literate in Outlook, Excel and Word
- Knowledge of drawing standard codes and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Mechanical and technical background advantageous
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work good in team as well as an individual
- Background in structural engineering and welding methods is preferred
- Experience in or knowledge of weld detailing and weld maps
- Practical experience in a fabrication shop is favourable
- Knowledge of critical and reference dimensions

**Must have experience to do the following**:

- Detailing of non-standard sections and connections such as plate girders and closed sections
- Creating new standard connections using complex members so that the connections can be used in future
- Detailing of superstructures
- Detailing of hoppers which consist of odd angles, using platework and structural beams combined
- Importing of positioning of mechanical equipment from other software packages
- Building of a complete assembled model consisting of different structural sub assembly modules/models
- Creating long sections/section views and flat shots/2D drawings of the overall assembly
- Good understanding of optimising the detailing/software to ensure models and working with drawings are not slow and tedious

**Software person must be fluent in**:

- Advanced steel
- Revit
- knowledge of civil 3D Advantageous (but not mandatory)
