**Introduction**

Our client based in Durban is looking for a Regional Manager to join their team and oversee the KZN and East London region.

**The primary purpose of this role is t**o:
- Provide leadership within the areas and implement the operational strategy of the organisation.

Manage the day-to-day operations of the regions, focused on core membership offerings, training and development, value-add services, and outsourced consultancy services.

Maintain robust engagements with members and prospective members of the organisation, through communicating and promoting core membership offerings, building strong relationships, providing timeous and appropriate solutions, and increasing sales in member services and new membership.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Organisational Leadership & Management_

Provide strong leadership to the area staff and operations.

Participate in the annual strategic plans for the organisation.

Participate in the development of annual operational plans that support the PSA strategy.

Develop Department Operational Plan (DOP), aligned to the PSA strategic and operational plan, and manage and report on areas of responsibility in line with the approved DOP.

Develop and maintain working relationships with organisation’s members and external affiliates.

Raise awareness of the career opportunities available in the industry through school career days and similar events.

Stay abreast of industry trends, new and changing legislation as well as other sources of news or information that may affect or has an impact on the industry.

Research emerging industry trends to identify new opportunities and services to members.
- Area Operations_

Manage the operations of the organisation’s regions.

Perform Regional Executive Committee (REC) secretarial duties.

Draft agendas and minutes for Regional Executive Committee meetings.

Report on area’s operational matters - e.g., monthly reporting on area activities.

Develop annual training plans with each member of staff.

Develop annual leave plans for staff in the area.

Plan and execute area activities such as REC meetings, business forums, golf days, breakfasts, dinners and so forth, and diarise accordingly with relevant stakeholders.

Market and provide a broad range of relevant competitively priced services to members.

Market, provide and coordinate quality services to members, including but not limited to HR, Business, Legal, and Training, and increase sales in line with targets.

Undertake training initiatives for the unemployed in the interest of building a strong talent pipeline for industry.

Market organisation to prospective members and grow membership in line with targets.
- Financial Management_

Compile an annual budget with the necessary motivations.

Manage the finances of the area, control expenditure (petty cash, travel, petrol card), and manage operational income.

Abide by organisation’s financial guideline, policies and procedures related to expenditure.
- Member Interaction_

Organise and convene members forums for the organisation’s members to discuss common needs within the confines of legislation.

Encourage members to attend industry events - e.g., conference.

Organise and convene annual member events.

Encourage members to address challenges of prevailing market factors and to assist to find solutions for members to meet such challenges.

Communicate with members through bulletins, newsletters, and articles for distribution.
- Member Development_

Maintain regular visits and engagements with members and prospective members of organisation.

Communicate and promote the membership value proposition to ensure sustainability and continued viability of organisation.

Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate a member relations strategy.

Manage activities related to member services.

Propose new strategic partnerships to guide long term business goals.

Ensure increased value for current members while attracting new members.

Market the area’s services, make regular courtesy calls on members, recruit new members, inform members regularly of training, Labour, and other consultancy services available.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**

Matric

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Management or similar.

A qualification and/or experience in printing or packaging would be an added advantage.

Training courses in marketing, business administration, business law, economics, management, accounting, mathematics, finance, and statistics will be an added advantage.

A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a regional operations management position, preferably in the printing and packaging industry, is a requirement.

Code B drivers’ licence

Travel in South Africa is required.
