**Purpose of the Position**: Ensure the Accuracy and Completeness of Payroll GL Accounts, Payroll payments and Payroll Bank Accounts. Ensuring adherence to the monthly deliverables while maintaining SLA's, KPI's and customer relationships.

The Payroll Accounting team supports the following:

- South African Entities
- Rest of Africa Entities

And responsible for the following functions:

- Salary expense journal entries
- Leave, Bonus and COIDA Provision
- Bank Accounts and payments for SA Payrolls
- Bursary Payments and Placement fee payments for SA
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Expat recharges and provisions

**Qualifications**
- Com Honours Degree
- CIMA, SAIPA or CA with articles would be advantageous

**Experience / Skills**
- Minimum 2 years' relevant experience
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and Taxation rules
- SAP system experience essential
- Advanced excel skills
- PowerBI would be advantageous

**Controls, Governance Policies**
- Ensure the payroll journals and reconciliations are compliant with standards defined by the Accounting Standards and Company Policies.
- Identify errors, report, and take corrective action.
- Consider recommendations to update accounting policies and revising where applicable.
- Support the Finance Shared Services Innovation team in governance initiatives.

**Month End Close Year End Activities**
- Plan monthly payroll accounting cut-offs for input and ensure timely deliverables according to RTR MEC deadlines.
- Guarantee the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of all payroll accounting journals for RSA Entities Rest of Africa
- Responsible for reviewing and approving of journals processed by the Payroll Accountants.
- Ensure the accurate, complete, and timely accounting of Payroll related intercompany journals and ensure that the salary control intercompany account is zero every month.
- Review the monthly Income Statement Reconciliation for Payroll Accounts and ensure that any differences are resolved.
- Ensure that Balance Sheet values are accurately recorded and reconciled as per the reconciliation policy.
- Prepare and/or review the reconciliation of the payroll related balance sheet accounts.
- Support the Payroll Accountants in resolving reconciling items timeously.
- Monitor Payroll KPI's and dashboards.
- Ensure correct account allocation of the payroll General Ledger Set-up, ensure standardisation across all payrolls and alignment with the company Chart of Accountants.
- Drive the standardisation of payroll journals and balance sheet recons for RSA Entities and Rest of Africa.
- Work with cross functional teams in the shared services and business to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in financial areas.
- Represent Payroll in MEC meetings.
- Review audit schedules and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
- Represent the company during any audits that involve Intercompany, journals and reconciliations
