**Job Purpose**

We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven **General manager - Operations** to direct and manage our business activities and to develop and implement effective business strategies and programs.

Duties for the General Manager will include pre-sales support, coordinating and leading the business operations, managing budgets and operational costs, formulating activities around policies and procedures, managing new and existing client relationships, improving administration processes, HR management, and management and leadership of the Operational team.

Your entrepreneurial spirit and vision in directing business functions will assist our business in maintaining relationships with clients, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving service, ensuring sustainability, and meeting business objectives.

The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgment in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of our business. The incumbent will be expected to be results-driven and to live the values of the organization.

**Key Accountabilities**

**Operations Management**
- Responsible for department's operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the business strategy.
- Responsible for short-term and long-term planning, driving initiatives with Regional Operations Team and Contract Managers.
- Ensure that there is efficient collaboration and coordination with Operations Team and the other departments (Sales, Finance, Human Resources and Logistics).
- QA audit results are addressed and actioned.
- Ensures that all relevant legislative requirements and Company procedures and standards are adhered to.
- Continuous system & process improvement.

**Effective management and leadership of the Operations Team**
- Lead and manage the Regional Operations Team to deliver outstanding performance against set KPI’s - Client, Financial and Operating standards.
- Set comprehensive goals and measures for performance and growth of direct reports.
- Develop skills and provide on-going coaching and support to the Regional Operations Team.
- Drive performance through cultivating a sense of ownership in the Operations team.

**Contract and Sales Support**
- Design and implement operational strategies, plans, and procedures to achieve comprehensive performance and growth.
- Pre-sales support to land new contracts and enhancements to existing client contracts.
- Identify business opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Ensure that all new business is done at signed-off margins.
- Use management Information and analytics to drive the operational objectives.
- Ensure effective client relationship management to ensure retention of existing clients.
- Improve on Client retention ratios year on year.
- Identify clients at risk and implement corrective actions to remedy and ensuring that the root cause concerns are corrected.
- Monitor and assess the market environment in terms of competitors and current clients.
- Consistent delivery of contractual commitments.
- Maintain all client SLAs and address deficiencies.
- Undertake regular and consistent client visits and assess service of personnel.
- Monitor client service levels.

**Effective management of the division’s financial performance**
- Manage relationship between actual results, budgets, and forecasts, - Manage the effective and efficient usage of company assets.
- Implement and manage cost savings and controls.
- Gross Margin Improvement.
- Continuously ensure operational excellence that will directly impact on financial performance of the business.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Relevant business qualification with a preference to a post graduate qualification
- 10 years experience in a business and / or operational senior management position
- 10 years experience within the security environment
