**Job Purpose**

We are looking for a **Head of Strategy **to facilitate long term strategy development and provide company management with strategy updates. In this role you will be required to develops and implement a strategy definition and implementation process in the division, including measurements against long term strategy. You will also be required to provide management with corporate performance measures and competitor analysis and ensures functional alignment with Group strategy. This role provides you with the opportunity to develop partnerships, strategic alliances and associations whilst representing the company's views effectively.

Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with business executives to translate new ideas into new opportunities for the bank by having distinctively original ideas, unique points of view, pioneering thinking and new insights
- Demonstrate understanding and support of Nedbank Strategy by ensuring all aspects are covered in conversations, debates and development of cluster strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders through regular engagement and knowledge sharing.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders by identifying and responding to their business and communication needs.
- Build synergy across business functions through collaboration.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders through participation in industry bodies, Nedbank committees and forums
- Compile strategic planning framework through joint facilitation with the planning team
- Evaluate threats and opportunities in terms of impact and risk through market analytics and research.
- Implement and coordinate special cross-cutting projects for RBB through coordination and resourcing.
- Ensure execution of strategic initiatives through monitoring and benchmarking of outcomes.
- Report on key strategic outcomes/results to various stakeholders (staff; regulators; share holders; clients and communities) through reports and presentations.
- Facilitate the formulation of strategy to inform the three year business plan.Identify and analyse key trends to improve business competitiveness.
- Facilitate discussions on key strategic interventions through business meetings.
- Provide planning guidelines in line with the planning team and making strategic choices in line with business imperatives.
- Review cluster aspirations; targets and milestones through analytics and reporting.
- Coordinate strategic initiatives and collaboration through joint planning and review sessions..
- Assist in cross-cluster decision making through collaborative resolution and problem solving.
- Assist in the identification of strategic opportunities for Group through market analytics and research Support the achievement of the business strategy; objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems; process; services and solutions are aligned.
- Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers.
- Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed; experience practiced and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
- Enable skilling and required corrective action to take place by sharing knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction

Preferred Qualification
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Post Graduate Degree

Minimum Experience Level
- 12 years working experience and relevant industry experience
