As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the procurement process and managing the procurement team for our food production clients.Working closely with key stakeholders, such as suppliers and internal teams, you will be responsible for strategically sourcing and procuring the necessary materials and services to meet our clients' production needs. You will also be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and pricing, and maintaining cost-efficiency while ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials.If you have a strong background in procurement within the food production industry and are looking for a challenging role with ample opportunities for growth and impact, we would love to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize the procurement processSource and procure materials and services from suppliers while ensuring cost-efficiency and qualityNegotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliersManage supplier relationships and conduct performance evaluationsIdentify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement costsOversee the procurement team and provide guidance and support when neededRequirementsDegree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related fieldAt least 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the food production industryStrong negotiation and communication skillsProven experience in managing supplier relationships and contractsAbility to analyze data and make strategic decisionsExcellent organizational and project management skillsProficiency in procurement software and MS Office SuiteAbility to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesLeadership skills and the ability to manage a teamBenefitsSalary: R800k - R650k per annumOur client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experience.
