Position Purpose:_**

Assist as Emergency Relief Engineer on craft as per Certificate of Competency
- Evaluate replacement parts and equipment for marine services.
- Equipment and material requirements to meet contingencies of price.
- Availability and time constraints of Marine and Technical departments.
- Availability of equipment and parts to minimize down time.
- Minimizing stockpiling of stock.
- Control bookkeeping and stock.
- Records ensuring audit requirements.
- Processing requisitions from the craft and workshops.
- Locate source of supply for various technical items in conjunction with the Procurement Department.
- Ensure efficient delivery and quality control of spares as per OEM specifications.
- Interact with representatives of various companies regarding different products available on the market.
- Travel to various companies with samples of engineering equipment and purchase with petty cash as necessary.
- Interaction with Marine Technical Managers and Chief Marine Engineers (planner), CMEO’s and MEO’s.
- Following up requisitions.
- Supervise stock availability, record keeping, tidiness, cleanliness and staff of Marine stores.
- Maintain Marine office requisition record books.

**_Position outputs:_**

Approve consumable items within designated authority. Ensure spare parts are as per specification. Liaise with company

reps in respect of requirements/spares.
- Advise Procurement in respect of equipment/spares.
- Consult with MEO’s and CMEO’s in respect of equipment/spares.
- Consult with Marine Risk Control official in respect of personal protective equipment and Hazard Chemical substances.
- Resolution of payment queries with Financial Department.
- Control of all spares/equipment within Marine Services stores.
- Control of issue of all equipment/spares from Marine Services Stores.
- Administer authorized purchases using petty cash.
- Administration of petty cash accounts
- Forward oil and water samples for analysis
- Interpret results of spectrographic analysis and consult with relevant MEO’s and CMEO’s on possible causes for any

deviation from accepted limits.
- Supervision of goods receipted.
- Consult with craft in respect of safety speculations/spares and hazardous chemicals.
- Disposal of redundant equipment/spares and miscellaneous items
- Attend any relevant meeting where decisions will impact on Marine Services

Qualifications & Experience:_**

Marine Engineer Officer MEO STCW or
- Second Engineer Port operation
- Valid Code EB drivers license

Advantage:

- Minimum 3-5 years as a Certificated Marine Engineer Officer
