Main Purpose of the Role:

Responsible for managing and motivating all staff, ensuring a high-quality standard, on-time delivery, and achievement of targets.

Responsible for overseeing the CMS Operation:

  1. Manage the relationship with the Client whilst maintaining profitability and productivity.
  2. Completion of the full billing process ensuring accuracy and completeness; plan, implement and monitor annual budgets; schedule expenditures; analyze, and report on variances and take appropriate corrective actions to compensate for variances.
  3. Management of financial and administrative requirements.
  4. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures as well as KPI measures are developed, implemented, and monitored.
  5. Ensure targets are met in accordance with customer scope.
  6. Ensure operations adhere to SHEQ and ISO standards, 5S and Gemba principles as high priority.
  7. Ensure Operations strive to fulfill BBBEE such as procurement and recruitment objectives.
  8. Manage Workshop (and in-plant areas), Equipment & Storage Yard maintenance.

Promoting customer relations:

  1. Maintain good relationships with external and internal customers and handle any customer complaints.
  2. Ensure the Debtors Aging is kept current and escalating; promote interdepartmental cooperation and synergies.
  3. Participate in daily morning meetings at Plant level with customer management.
  4. Review quality as per standard operating procedure.
  5. Develop, implement, and monitor guidelines for customer satisfaction.
  6. Support Regional Manager to grow Operational & Technical Portfolio, to find new business and spot opportunities.

Manage all productive staff effectively and efficiently:

  1. Plan and adjust staff workloads and allocate daily tasks to team members.
  2. Provide advice, coordination, and support to team members.
  3. Ensure all operations staff adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and safety protocols.
  4. Ensure all staff are adequately trained in terms of their duties and per legal requirements.
  5. Use the Performance Management system to ensure all staff are appraised on their performance and given sufficient training, coaching, and mentoring where applicable.
  6. Ensure all new staff are properly inducted on all policies and procedures.
  7. Ensure all department employees' timekeeping and attendance adherence.
  8. Take corrective action on employees who do not comply with policies and procedures of the company.
  9. Foster a team environment of inclusivity and transparency.

Additional Duties:

  1. Ensure the department adheres to ISO 9001 Quality Processes and standards.
  2. Ensure the department adheres to ISO 14001 Environmental Processes and standards.
  3. Ensure the department adheres to ISO 18001 Health and Safety standards.
  4. Maintain an ethical approach to safety and compliance.
  5. IATF Certification.

Education and Experience:

  1. Matric/ Grade 12.
  2. 5 – 10 years working experience in a vehicle logistics and/or yard management environment.
  3. Some technical fitment knowledge will be advantageous.
  4. Diploma/Degree or studying towards a diploma/degree in Logistics.
  5. Any experience in Operations, Production, Project, or General Management is advantageous.
  6. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels (both internal and external customers).
  7. Proven record of planning and executing projects.
  8. Effective management and utilization of resources, 50+ employees in a unionized environment.
  9. Must have sound computer knowledge and applications at an advanced level (Full MS Office Suite).
