Introduction

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for delivering enterprise integration solutions. This is a dynamic role that will support project teams in requirements gathering, data mapping, testing, training, and post-deployment support. The Senior Business Analyst will work alongside Integration Developers, Technical Testers, and Solution Architects to design integration solutions and facilitate business requirements elicitation. They will also assess and review existing systems to recommend process optimization and system improvements.

Results Delivery
  • Contribute to crafting the IT departmental business plan to ensure delivery of focus areas for the year in support of IT strategy.
  • Apply cost-effectiveness principles in planning and delivery to contribute to divisional financial targets.
  • Provide relevant input into the formalisation of the divisional budget.
  • Manage allocated budget by tracking costs and recommending solutions that meet critical business needs.
  • Provide guidance on best system solution selection to ensure fit to the JSE's requirements and future strategic objectives.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
  • Champion Business Analyst services with stakeholders.
  • Understand the business domain and needs of stakeholders.
  • Provide insight regarding BA methodologies and best practices to internal clients.
  • Maintain relationships with Business Owners to ensure the BA team is consulted in initiatives requiring IT support.
  • Determine business requirements and actively manage key projects to ensure expectations are met.
  • Conduct Business Owner feedback sessions with every milestone phase of a project to inform progress and manage expectations.
Process Management
  • Manage delivery on multiple and/or complex projects against departmental delivery plans and timelines.
  • Gather supporting information through interviews, surveys, and document reviews.
  • Draft full system requirements plans detailing activities and outputs.
  • Execute the requirements plan in alignment with Software Development Lifecycle processes.
  • Conduct a cost and benefit analysis to assess feasibility.
  • Create business requirements specification documents to confirm clarity of business scope.
  • Review technical design specifications and test cases to ensure all requirements are included.
Self-Management
  • Improve personal capability and professional growth in line with JSE objectives.
  • Keep abreast of changes in legislation or standards.
  • Share knowledge and research results with the team.
Knowledge and Skills required
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • Business Analyst Certification from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience with managing complex data integration implementations.
  • Strong SQL skills and data profiling experience preferred.
