Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Product Marketing Specialist to represent a leading lubricant brand. The ideal candidate will develop a deep understanding of the product line, market dynamics, and customer needs while serving as a brand ambassador.

This role involves educating customers, supporting the sales team, and providing expert insights to drive market growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in building brand awareness, executing marketing strategies, and ensuring the successful implementation of promotions and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of lubricant products, including their features, benefits, applications, and technical specifications.
  • Serve as the go-to expert on product knowledge for both internal teams and external customers.
  • Conduct training sessions for the sales team, key accounts, and customers to ensure comprehensive product knowledge and effective usage.
  • Answer product-related queries, provide recommendations, and offer technical support to customers as needed.

Market Analysis & Insights:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to inform product positioning and strategy.
  • Assist in gathering data on market demands and customer preferences to guide future product development and improvements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to marketing and product development teams based on market research and customer interactions.
  • Support the sales team by providing product-related information and resources to help close deals and drive sales growth.
  • Assist in the development of promotional materials, product presentations, and marketing campaigns to enhance product visibility.
  • Help identify opportunities for product enhancements or new product offerings based on customer and market needs.
  • Engage with distributors, key customers, and partners to ensure product satisfaction and resolve any product-related concerns.
  • Assist in creating product demos and presentations for trade shows, client meetings, or other marketing events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create content that highlights the features and benefits of lubricant products.

Digital Marketing and Social Media:

  • Product Specialist will work hand in hand with their Digital Marketing and Social Media teams to enhance brand visibility and engagement through targeted online content and campaigns.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, product inquiries, and market trends.
  • Regularly report on product performance and customer feedback to help shape future strategies and provide monthly market reports with sales information, market trends, competitor analysis, pictures, and trade day promotions.
  • Provide detailed feedback and attend regular Teams feedback sessions.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM software.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for customer meetings or trade shows.
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
  • A criminal background check will be done on all candidates. Clear criminal background required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in product management, sales support, or a similar product-focused role, preferably in the consumer goods or automotive sectors. Strong understanding of product features, benefits, and technical specifications. Experience with customer-facing roles, ideally in a B2B environment.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information for a diverse audience.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development.
    • Analytical mindset to track product performance and assess market trends.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Salary on offer: R30 - R35k CTC
