About the job Sales Coordinator (External Applications Only)

Grow sales through constant Customer interaction; costing of building plans and issuing Customers with accurate quotations. Ensuring that all housekeeping and merchandising standards are maintained at all times. Ensuring a cost effective and efficient delivery service.

Requirements

  1. Grade 12 plus 5 (five) years related experience or a minimum of 10 (ten) years' work related experience
  2. Plan reading experience would be advantageous
  3. Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available.
  4. Above average numeric skills
  5. Proven ability to provide exceptional Customer Service
  6. Proven ability to work under pressure
  7. Must be computer literate
  8. Proven strong organising, planning and delegation skills

Sales

  1. Issuing and follow up of quotations in order to generate sales
  2. Quote process and control Special Orders
  3. Reading of building plans and ensuring quotations are correct and within the agreed timeframe
  4. Manage the telephone, answer, and return calls, ensure follow ups are done
  5. Conduct competitor analysis to ensure competitiveness of the store
  6. Communicate bulk deposit transfers to Customers
  7. Promote loyalty programs (VIC and Charge Card Customers)

Deliveries

  1. Manage an efficient delivery service and ensuring that the correct rates are charged
  2. Deliveries dispatched within the required time limit
  3. Delayed deliveries communicated with Customer and appropriate arrangements made and agreed to with the Customer

Customer Service

  1. Effective Customer Service Desk Management
  2. Record, follow up and resolve Customer Complaints
  3. To ensure an efficient Customer Service at all times (all Customers are attended to)
  4. Telephone etiquette (to ensure that all calls are answered within the required time)

Store Standards

  1. Effective management of the Ready for Business Checklists and processes with regards to area of responsibility and those of the General Assistant, Sales Advisors and Forklift Drivers.
  2. Price changes to be implemented in line with advertised prices.
  3. Implementation of planograms

People Management

  1. Ensure that all General Assistants, Sales Advisors and Forklift Drivers are present and available in their area of responsibility in order to assist Customers and perform all their responsibilities
  2. Ensure General Assistants, Sales Advisors and Forklift Drivers have a trained backup available.
  3. Ensure General Assistants, Sales Advisors and Forklift Drivers execute their daily duties (Ready for Business and Beyond my Control)

Safety (OHSA) Requirements

  1. Ensure that safety standards are adhered to
  2. Ensure Employees under control of Sales Coordinator wear correct protective clothing and safe use of equipment.

  1. Be aware of any suspicious people and / or activities in and outside the Store.
  2. Password security
