As a Payroll Specialist, you'll manage payroll for small business clients and work with our tech team to improve software that makes payroll simpler and more efficient.

What you'll do
  • Process and manage payroll for a portfolio of small business clients, ensuring accurate calculations, timely payments, and compliance with South African regulations.
  • Handle monthly payroll submissions, including PAYE, UIF, and other deductions.
  • Be the go-to expert for customers, addressing payroll queries and offering proactive advice on payroll processes and compliance.
  • Work closely with our software developers to identify pain points in payroll processes and contribute ideas for automation and system improvements.
  • Test and provide feedback on new payroll features, ensuring they align with real-world client needs.
What you should have
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Administrator, or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g. Sage, SimplePay) and a strong understanding of South African tax and labor laws.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with non-payroll professionals, especially software developers.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment with changing priorities.
