Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with a strong payroll background to join their team and contribute to their clients' success.

Key Responsibilities :
  1. Manage the full bookkeeping function for multiple companies across various industries, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial records, reconciliations, and reporting.
  2. Process and oversee payroll for a diverse clientele, including companies with up to [number] employees, on a fortnightly, monthly, and weekly pay basis.
  3. Utilize Pastel accounting software to maintain financial records, generate reports, and reconcile accounts.
  4. Expertly navigate Pastel Payroll for efficient and accurate payroll processing on varying pay schedules.
  5. Handle tax return preparations and submissions for client companies, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.
  6. Administer provident funds, including contributions, withdrawals, and reporting, in accordance with relevant regulations.
  7. Collaborate with clients to gather financial information and provide insights for informed decision-making.
  8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations, payroll legislation, provident fund rules, and industry-specific requirements.
Qualifications :
  1. Relevant diploma / Certificate in Accounting / Bookkeeping will be advantageous.
  2. Certificate in Pastel will be advantageous.
Requirements :
  1. Minimum of 8 years of comprehensive Bookkeeping and Payroll experience.
  2. Proven experience in handling the books and payroll for multiple companies simultaneously, highly advantageous.
  3. Proficiency in Pastel accounting and Pastel Payroll is non-negotiable.
  4. Solid understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, payroll processes, tax regulations, and provident fund management.
  5. Experience managing payroll for a significant number of employees (up to [number]) on fortnightly, monthly, and weekly pay schedules.
  6. Familiarity with tax return preparation and submission processes.
  7. Exposure to provident fund administration and reporting.
  8. Own transportation is essential for onsite client visits.
  9. Preferably possess a qualification or certificate in Pastel accounting.
