About The Role

We are seeking an experienced locum neuro-OT to provide rehabilitation for patients with neurological conditions across acute, subacute, and outpatient settings. This is a role where you will work very independently and with minimal supervision, hence this role will not be appropriate for those with less than 3 years work experience.

Your Daily Responsibilities May Include:

  • Assessment: Evaluating motor, sensory, cognitive, and emotional abilities to set therapy goals.
  • Therapy: Enhancing mobility, fine motor skills, cognitive function, and independence in daily tasks.
  • Training: Teaching adaptive strategies, compensatory techniques, and caregiver education.
  • Collaboration: Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams for holistic care.
  • Documentation: Tracking progress and updating treatment plans.

Qualifications

About You:
You're an enthusiastic LOCUM Occupational Therapist living in Johannesburg with a passion for rehabilitation and client-centered care. You're confident to treat patients across acute hospital, sub-acute, out-patient and community-settings. You're willing to work weekends and/or weekdays when the demand requires.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current HPCSA registration
  • South African citizen or valid work visa
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in adult neurorehabilitation (no exceptions)
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and basic IT platforms

Additional Preferences:

  • Valid driver's license and personal car to enable easy travel between units
  • Postgraduate courses in Hands, Vocational Rehabilitation, Wheelchair seating and/or Return To Driving

  • SA Citizen or valid work visa
  • Strong Clinical Assessment & Reasoning
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Fanatical compliance to note-writing and clinical administration

Good to have skills:

  • IT Skills - Word and Excel
  • Driver's licence
  • Own vehicle
  • Postgraduate courses in hands, seating, voc rehab and return to driving
