Portfolio National Marketing Manager

The incumbent will play an integral role to the success of the business working across all business lines and locations. Reporting to the Portfolio Executive. The key responsibilities of this role will be to develop and implement strategies and projects that will drive the development of the Client's Property Portfolio Marketing Strategy.

  • Improve marketing standards by providing strategic direction and guidance to the on-site marketing teams to ensure growth of Shopping Centre brands.
  • Maintain, measure and drive brand dominance across all mediums including advertising (online and offline), outdoor, signage, online listings and digital marketing.
  • Develop marketing messages, tools and campaigns to encourage customers to buy/lease at the Client's owned Shopping Centres.

Demonstrated contribution to marketing division in relation to:

  • Strategic analysis and formulation.
  • Policy, framework and guideline development (Customer Service and Experience Policies).
  • Risk identification in related field.
  • Operational management response.
  • Demonstrated teamwork within the marketing division, including development of constructive, collaborative relationships.

Operational management

  • Demonstrated internal customer satisfaction with team service delivery, including customer service culture, continuous improvement, and service accountability.
  • All promotional materials delivered to a high-quality standard (alignment with the style guide and funding body requirements with no content errors).
  • Marketing campaigns designed and implemented as required that meet portfolio objectives and framework.
  • Manage the coordination of Alternative Revenue Streams for the Portfolio.
  • Bid and obtain Development Marketing contracts on all Client's Development Projects.
  • Budgetary targets met.
  • KPI's met.
  • Forecast reporting.
  • Preparation of 3-year budgets.

Team leadership

  • Ensure the Client's Portfolio goals are supported and met.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Shopping Centre's Marketing Strategy through effective marketing Plans.
  • Lead a cohesive marketing team that is engaged and focused on delivery of strategic goals.
  • A high level of internal customer satisfaction.
  • Marketing portfolio goals are met.
  • Annual reviews are undertaken.

Research and Innovation

  • Plan with the Line Manager, Portfolio Executive and Asset Managers the different type of research and desired outcome or required information.
  • Coordinate the execution of the research with the service providers and present the results to MANCO, OPCO and other relevant forums.
  • Design an implementation program to implement corrective action emanating from the research findings and communicate on progress.
  • Perform research on innovative marketing trends to have service delivery efficiencies and enhance customer experience on the client's portfolio, and in return generate revenue for Mowana.
  • Project Manage implementation of innovation projects and provide reports to key stakeholders.
  • Collect, analyse, trend and report on campaign data.
  • Educate the business on effective intake and follow up of customer enquiries to ensure maximum conversion of prospects.

  • Maintain continuous personal and professional development through attendance at professional development sessions, industry discussion groups and management courses.
  • Demonstrated application of contemporary, best practice technical, managerial and leadership skills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a National Diploma in Marketing/Public Relations or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 7 – 10 years' experience in a Senior Marketing Manager role in retail.

Skills/ Abilities

  • High level communication skills with an ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Previous leadership experience with an ability to motivate staff and initiate positive change.
  • Solid marketing experience in Retail Shopping Centres with a knowledge of creative design and new media marketing direction.
