A world-class fuel refinery has a contract position available for a Financial Analyst at their premises in Milnerton. The purpose of the role is to provide cost reporting and financial analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Produce monthly cost reporting & coordinate cost review meetings with cost centre owners.
  2. Perform monthly variance analysis of actual vs budget on operating expenses.
  3. Prepare and present divisional operating expenses financial reports and variance explanations as required by Refinery Leadership Team at monthly governance meeting.
  4. Provide financial guidance to refinery business unit through accounting policy & IFRS interpretation and application, tax implications of proposed actions, capex vs. operating expenses decisions etc.
  5. Participate in special projects as directed by Manager, Refinery Finance. Projects are focused on continuous improvement in the areas of cost (SAP, ARIBA, cost reporting).
Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:

  1. Fully qualified CA(SA) or CIMA non-negotiable
  2. 2-5 years of post-qualification experience is highly preferable, especially experience in cost analysis and reporting.
  3. Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability and confidence to work well with a broad spectrum of personnel across the organization and constructively provide guidance within a team environment.
  5. SAP experience and knowledge would count in candidate's favour.
