Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst / Power BI Developer to join our growing data team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, technically skilled individual with expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure cloud services, SQL, and Power BI. You will play a crucial part in transforming raw data into actionable insights, supporting data-driven decisions across the organization. Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Developer, or in a similar role.

Required Technical Skills

  • Power BI: Advanced skills in Power BI report and dashboard creation, with proficiency in DAX and Power Query.
  • Microsoft Fabric: Experience in utilizing Microsoft Fabric for building and managing data integration and analytics workflows.
  • Azure: Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure data services.
  • SQL: Strong command of SQL for database querying, data manipulation, and performance tuning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of data warehousing principles and tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies for managing project tasks and timelines.
  • Microsoft certifications related to Power BI, Azure, or Data Engineering are a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop, design, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide insights for various business functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and translate them into effective visualizations and metrics.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across reporting platforms.

Data Integration & ETL Processes

  • Leverage Microsoft Fabric and Azure tools for building and managing scalable data pipelines.
  • Design and maintain data integration workflows, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to consolidate data from multiple sources for reporting purposes.

Database Management

  • Write efficient SQL queries to retrieve, analyse, and manipulate data stored in relational databases.
  • Manage and optimize database performance, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient data retrieval.
  • Implement data security and compliance practices in line with company policies.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Establish data quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness in reporting.
  • Document data management processes, including definitions, data flows, and business logic applied in dashboards and reports.
  • Ensure alignment with data governance standards and compliance regulations.

Technical Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in Microsoft Fabric, Azure services, SQL, and Power BI.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance data processes and tools, recommending new features or functionalities as appropriate.
  • Mentor team members and share best practices for Power BI and data analytics.

Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.

Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise, and actionable way.

Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams and aligning with stakeholders' needs.

Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
